Several Arrests Carried Out After Donald Trump and Epstein Pictures Displayed on Royal Castle
Several individuals have been detained following visuals of Donald Trump and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein appeared onto Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening, coinciding with the US president's visit in the UK.
Police Response and Arrests
Local authorities stated that the individuals were taken into custody on charges related to "malicious communications" after what they referred to as a "public stunt." Those arrested included a 60-year-old from East Sussex, a 36-year-old and a 50-year-old from London, and a Kent man aged 37.
The force noted that officers responded swiftly to stop the projection on the royal residence, where Trump was expected to greet the monarch during his official trip.
Background of the Event
The former president was associated with Jeffrey Epstein during the 1990s and early 2000s. To date, Trump has not been formally accused with any wrongdoing in connection with the deceased financier.
The visit follows just days after the UK's top diplomat in Washington was removed due to his links with the convicted sex offender.
Early on Wednesday, a van was spotted in Windsor displaying an image of Trump and Epstein along with the message: "Welcome to the UK, Donald."
Security Presence and Demonstration Arrangements
A significant security detail has been deployed throughout the area, with more than a thousand personnel tasked to oversee activities in central London amid planned protests by protest organizers.
Meanwhile, Trump and First Lady Melania are set to attend lunch with members of the royal household, pay respects the resting place of the late queen, and give a address at a formal dinner.
Protesters assembled in the town ahead of the arrival, emphasizing the controversial nature of the state visit.
